In one of the most interesting matches so far of the Intel Extreme Masters 2010 compLexity's brand new cs 1.6 division, the former FireGames team from Brazil, show the world how bad they want to be a part of the compLexity organization.
The first map, de_train, started off in favor of compLexity with a big four kill made by arguably one of the best AWPers in the game right now, Fallen. Complexity ended up grabbing a HUGE 10 rounds on T side train against DINC's meager 5. This is a huge feat for anyone who understands how heavily CT sided that particular Counter-Strike 1.6 map is for competitive play at nearly every level. With such a strong lead switching to CT side, compLexity really needed to grab 6 easy rounds on CT side and had a lot to work with compared to DINC who needed a staggering 11 rounds on T side train. Not surprising, however, was the comeback that DINC made T side when they grabbed the first pistol round and the subsequent two rounds after that to give themselves a bit to work with making it a 10-8 score. DINC kept dominating every round until the score went 14(DINC)-10(coL), before coL could even get on the scoreboard for their CT half. CompLexity managed to grab another 4 rounds before finally losing to DINC during that map.
The next map, being de_dust2, is arguably the most random map in cstrike 1.6. With some big plays by both teams, compLexity managed to squeak on by and grab this map with a 16-13 score against DINC. Throughout the map sgares really brought the big game when it was needed by his team to keep them alive in this map, but it just wasn't enough to snatch victory away from the brazilian compLexity lineup.
The third map, de_inferno, was nearly a shutout. compLexity went 16-3 against DINC, securing their place to move on up in the tournament.
With such a loss of momentum on the first of three maps, compLexity managed to rally up and pick up the next two maps to take out DINC during the Semi-finals. It will be interesting to watch this new compLexity lineup develop more as a team, possibly restoring the now tainted coL image. The announcement of this being a South American division within counter-strike 1.6 for the team made it seem as if they were still interested in picking up a North American division still. There also has been talk of a second compLexity house being started, with rumors of the new coL.brazil 1.6 team being brought into the US to stay in. Hopefully this happens and can light a fire under the current ESEA.Invite teams to get them to step up their game both "locally" and internationally. Team EG needs some more contenders for their currently held title of top North American team.
